Birthwork Offerings
I am a placenta encapsulation specialist with a little over five years of experience. I don’t always get to meet every family that I work with face-to-face, but I have endless gratitude for the trust that many have put in me. It’s an honor to provide this service to families and recently postpartum pregnant people who are looking to connect to their placenta in a way that supports them physiologically, emotionally and spiritually.
Placenta medicine can be supportive in increasing energy, increasing milk production, stabilizing hormones, lessening risk of postpartum depression and bleeding, and so much more.
Across the world placentas are seen as a sacred life force, meant to be honored. They are bridges between parent and child, between life and death, between earth side and the blanket of stars we all come from. If encapsulation is not a process that calls to you, I am also available to support in facilitating a ceremony to honor this life force.
The Process: Once you have given birth, I will head over to your home, birth center or hospital and pick up the placenta. Once I have the placenta safely at my home, I will begin working on the dehydration process. Once finished, I will encapsulate and drop off the capsules to your home. You will typically have the placenta back to you between 24 and 72 hours after birth.
If you would like to reserve placenta encapsulation, please email me: carmen@mothertonguewisdom.com

Abortion Doula care can look like: education and advocacy about your care options, personalized abortion care planning, sitting with you during surgical and self-managed abortions, active listening and holding space, meal planning and prepping, movement offerings (ex. yoga, dance, hiking, etc), plant medicine, meditation and mindfulness tools, emotional and physical comfort measures, and more.
Abortion Doula Support
Every(body) deserves access to culturally competent and dignified care. My birthwork offerings are centered and geared toward People of Color and Queer and Trans individuals/families — the very communities that are often left out of discourse and fights for reproductive justice. As a birthworker, I strive to provide the necessary educational, emotional, spiritual and physical support needed so that all of my clients not only feel supported, but empowered to make the decisions that are best for them and their bodies.
